This mini-tutorial will guide you through the interactive transcription process that you will try on our demos.
Note that this is a work in progress intended to demonstrate the basic functionality of UPV's interactive HTR engines at tS.
Once you arrive to the collections view, you must choose one of the available demos by clicking either on a thumbnail or their acompanying link.
The chapters view lists all of the available chapters for the collection you have chosen before. Just click on the chapter link you wish to transcribe.
The pages view lists all of the available pages for the chapter you have chosen. Just click on the page thumbnail you wish to transcribe.
The main screen is the one devoted to the transcription itself, also known as editing view. The layout is pretty simple. At the left you have the a full-sized page. At the right you have a dashboard (not implemented yet), intended to display some basic stats in the near future.
You will see a number of patches on the full-sized image. By clicking on one of these patches, a floating editor will appear. The application will connect to an HTR engine. As a result, an automatic transcription of the current image patch will be shown.
There are a number of keyboard shortcuts available aimed at making the most of each demo capabilities.
On the text editor you can write text as you would normally do. However, every single correction you perform will be taken into account by the HTR engine in order to improve their suggestions. In addition, you can perform the following actions over the text being edited.
